Details: Army of Trans-Mississippi. This army group originally consisted of 50,000 people. It covered Western Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, the Indian Territory, and Confederate Arizona. Unites from this army group also participated in battles in New Mexico and an extended raid into Missouri and Kansas.
