Details: This is the flag of the 1st Rhode Island Regiment, which was active from 1775 to 1783. It fought in numerous battles during the Revolutionary War.

Between the years of 1778-1780 it had several companies of black soldiers and became known as the "Black Regiment." During this time slave owners were financially compensated for enlisting able-bodied male slaves. After serving for two years, they were discharged as a free person.

3'x5' polyester flag with white header and two grommets. Most flags have four rows of stitches on the fly and two rows on the top, bottom, and header side. Image is screen printed and appears on both sides. Writing will appear reversed on the back.

3'x5' flags are 3ft x 5ft, 36in. by 60in, 91cm by 152cm, 1yard by 1.7yard. This is the most common size flag you see hanging on porches, small flag poles, hanging at festivals, and inside of bars and restaurants.
