Different versions of this flag were proposed as the national flag of German after WWI and the national flag of West Germany after WWII. It is also referred to as the "Deutscher-Widerstand," or German Resistance flag. It was used by the group of German officers who tried to assinate Hitler during WWII.

It has long been associated with post-WWI conservative movements. In the past it was used by the CDU and the FDP.

Today it is used at conservative demonstrations in Germans by groups like PEGIDA, AfD, and Identitarian activists.

3'x5' flags are 3ft x 5ft, 36in. by 60in, 91cm by 152cm, 1yard by 1.7yard. This is the most common size flag you see hanging on porches, small flag poles, hanging at festivals, and inside of bars and restaurants.
